HVAC manufacturers connecting their equipment usually face the same question: build it yourself, use an OEM platform, or build on top of an IoT platform that hands you the infrastructure. The deciding factor isn't cost or speed. It's whose brand the equipment owner sees on their phone. Raypak chose to build on a platform back in 2019. That decision let them keep the Raymote brand as their own, put real operating data in front of their service team, and scale to tens of thousands of connected units without building a mobile team from scratch. That's the case for owning the stack instead of renting someone else's monitoring product: you keep the relationship with the customer, and the platform underneath just does its job.
