When I was trying to grow my own practice, I thought the answer was simply working harder. Turns out, that was the wrong approach. What actually changed everything was learning how to measure what matters. Here’s what I did 👇 I stopped asking, “How do I get busier?” and started asking, “How do I make sure every person I serve gets the right plan, follows through, and sees results worth talking about?” When I started tracking numbers like case value, visit average, and conversions, our revenue grew faster and our systems finally made sense. 🙌 It showed me something simple: Growth isn’t just about doing more. It’s about doing the right things with clarity and focus. If you can’t see your data, you can’t fix your data. And when you start seeing what’s really happening in your practice, your decisions get easier, your team gets more aligned, and your impact grows. I hope this serves you in some way. #LeadershipInPractice #PracticeGrowth #HealthEntrepreneur #SystemsCreateFreedom #ClarityOverHustle #MeasureWhatMatters #LeadWithPurpose #ChiropracticCare #ChiropracticLife #ChiropracticBusiness #Chiropractor #BusinessGrowth #drcoryfrogley #thedatadrivenpractice

It can feel overwhelming and intimidating to evaluate someone’s performance – your own, a staff member’s, or your team’s. It may help to know that there are only two essential categories to observe: effort (aka, actions) or effect (aka, outcomes).

Don’t just show savings—show value. Boards don’t get excited about “fewer manual journals.” They care about faster insights, better decisions, and reduced risk. Translate technical wins into business impact: “We cut 5 days off the close → which means the Board gets numbers a week earlier to act on.” Takeaway: Talk in business outcomes, not system jargon. #FinanceLeadership #BoardValue

This is what the African Institute for Solutions and Development is working on. Provide an evidence based measurement of outcomes beyond just numbers
Monitoring and Evaluation Expert & Strategic Facilitator | Founder of Clarity-to-Impact® - Waitlist Open
Your donor wants a number. But your outcome is confidence. How do you measure that? If your logframe has no space for nuance, it’s not you, it’s the system. Because some of the most meaningful results in development such as dignity, empowerment, influence, mindset shifts, are the hardest to quantify. So we end up counting what’s easy to measure instead of what’s truly changing. Traditional M&E tools weren’t built to easily capture: → shifts in power and relationships → unplanned, ripple effects of influence → or the kind of social transformation that unfolds quietly over time. That’s where complexity-aware methods come in. 1️⃣ Outcome Harvesting Looks at what actually changed (not just what you planned)and works backwards to understand how your project contributed. It’s brilliant for capturing unplanned or unexpected results. 2️⃣ Most Significant Change Uses storytelling to surface what mattered most to the people involved. Instead of top-down indicators, you get bottom-up insight into what real change looks like on the ground. 3️⃣ Ripple Effects Mapping makes those “hidden” connections visible, how one small action or idea sparked new collaborations, policy shifts, or local innovations. If you’re ready to stop forcing complex change into narrow logframes and finally measure what matters, join the Clarity-to-Impact™ Programme. You’ll learn how to choose the right method for the right context, combine qualitative and quantitative data with confidence, and communicate results in a way that donors and communities value. Because impact isn’t always a number. Sometimes, it’s a story that deserves to be measured properly. We’re full and I couldn’t be more grateful for the overwhelming response. We often talk about outcomes in terms of communities, systems, or policies, but rarely about what changes within the people doing the work. In my decade across the development sector, I’ve seen projects/programmes/interventions succeed not just because of perfect logframes or donor compliance, but because teams quietly stepped up beyond their roles and KPIs taking ownership, leading adaptively, and caring deeply about getting it right. Yet most frameworks don’t capture that. There’s no indicator for: 🧐The colleague who mentors others even when it’s not in their TOR. ✊The project officer who finds creative solutions when plans fall apart. ✌️The collective energy that turns “budget utlisation targets” into transformation. When leadership, initiative, and collaboration strengthen inside a team, ripple effects show up in the quality of relationships, learning, and ultimately, in impact. This post actually highlights alot of the things I have been thinking lately its critical to capture team stories of what truly mattered in the journey. To make sense of how we grow through our work, not just what we deliver. Because transformation doesn’t only happen out there it also happens within us.

Mapping Tool Video #2 is here! In this next part of the series, I’m tackling a great topic brought up by Kristi Ahrens about what to do with unlocked statements after you’ve remapped your Chart of Accounts in Reach. This is something that can trip people up, especially if you’ve spent time fine-tuning an unlocked statement but now want to create a maintenance-free locked version using the mapping tool. In this video, I walk through what happens to unlocked statements when you remap and show the best way to transition them into locked statements for smoother future reporting. If you’ve recently updated your COA map or are planning to, this one’s worth a watch. Check it out below, and let me know what other topics you’d like to see in this series. #ReachReporting #CAS #CFO #ProductUpdate
