Very insightful! It's unfortunate that so many founders experience a loss of purpose after reaching a point many would view as an indication of success. But the silver lining is that this challenge isn't new. There are a lot of professions, like surgeons or soldiers, that become such an important part of someone's personality that stepping back can be tough. I wonder if some sort of "retirement coach" program could connect retirees with founders to help them navigate the transition?
