I recently created a motion graphics poster using Adobe After Effects, designed to capture the refreshing energy and vibrancy of Sprite. The goal was to merge clean visual design with kinetic energy, transforming a static product visual into a lively digital motion piece. Here’s a quick breakdown of my #creativeprocess and some valuable After Effects #tips I applied: Design Workflow Started by designing my core composition layout, bottle, splash, and background and nested it into a Main Comp for structured editing. Integrated a copyright-free soundtrack from Uppbeat, ensuring seamless synchronization between animation and beat transitions. Keyframe & Graph Editor Hacks (Be pedantic with this) Always easy ease your keyframes (F9), this gives your motion that natural flow rather than linear movement. In the Graph Editor, focus on adjusting the speed graph, not just the value graph to fine-tune acceleration and deceleration for smoother transitions. Use motion arcs and stagger animations slightly between layers for depth and rhythm. Mirror Effect Magic To add symmetrical reflections and dynamic balance, the Mirror Effect under Effects > Distort > Mirror is perfect. Combine it with masking techniques to create fluid reflections, doubling your impact without extra layers. Audio Integration Tip When syncing with audio from Uppbeat (or any royalty-free source), convert your waveform to keyframes (right-click > Keyframe Assistant > Convert Audio to Keyframes). This allows you to drive animations dynamically with your soundtrack’s rhythm perfect for product bursts or text pops. Pro Tip: Keep your compositions organized with color labels and pre-compose. A clean workflow equals creative freedom. Every frame is a chance to redefine creativity, where design meets rhythm, and imagination becomes motion. #AdobeAfterEffects #MotionDesign #Sprite #GraphicDesign #VideoEditing #AfterEffectsTips #UppbeatMusic #AIandDesign #CreativeWorkflow #DigitalDesign #VisualStorytelling

Toying with 3D assets and HDRIs doesn’t make you a designer. It just makes your mistakes look photorealistic. Today, any random person can grab Quixel assets, play Legos with 3D kitbashing, slap an HDRI in Blender, and get a photorealistic render after 5 minutes of waiting. Sounds great, right? Wrong. Supply and demand : If anyone can do it, it has zero value. Studios don't care anymore. It's expected, not impressive. Today everyone can make a pretty 3D render today and call it Concept Art, and that’s exactly why it’s becoming worthless and studios seeing you rely 100% on cheap 3D will . So what becomes rare again? What takes time. What can’t be automated. **Insert boring time and texan grandpa accent** GOOD OL' FUNDAMENTALS and not needing crutches and 2000€ worth of add-ons to get stuff done. ❌ Here is why studios see 3D dependency as a red flag : When a studio sees that you can't draw, here's what they're actually thinking: "This person didn't have the patience or determination to grind through years of fundamentals and build a solid foundation." BUT.... - ❌ They don't know anatomy. - ❌ They don't know perspective. - ❌ They don't develop their eye. - ❌ They can't create from scratch - ❌ All their mental bandwidth goes to technique ➡ They're slaves to their tools. And a studio doesn't want a slave. Here's what studios fear: If tomorrow, for whatever reason, 3D isn't available, or you don't have access to your kitbash libraries and your 3 billion plugins installed... ...You can't do anything. The more you become a one-trick pony relying on 3D (unless you're an absolute beast at modeling and creating your own assets, which is rare and requires skills about as hard as drawing fundamentals), the more you're seen as a risk. Because sometimes you’ll have to paint something that doesn’t exist in 3D. Sometimes you’ll need to sketch ideas live with an art director watching you. And if you freeze because your plugin crashes or you can't find the right kitbash, you’re done. (also : kitbash = legal risk for studios) Let's be clear 3D is not the enemy. It’s an incredible tool for iteration, consistency, and production handoff. But when you rely on it for initial design thinking, most likely it becomes a cage. I can speak from experience running The Art Nest: We increasingly work only with stylized artists. Why? Because stylized artists can't bullshit their way through 3D. They're forced to know how to draw. And that forces them to think. The solution isn't a miracle trick You need to grind the fundamentals. Period. Even if you want to be a 3D maximalist, that's fine. But then learn to model your own assets properly. Don't depend on 50 billion plugins. And if your technique is already good enough and you want to learn design and how to craft a banger portfolio for jobs, you can watch this : https://lnkd.in/dhP9F8-M
