There was a time when leaders were told they shouldn't say things like: “I’m struggling.” “I don’t know.” “I need some help.” But that’s exactly what more of today’s teams need to be hearing from us. The truth is the next generation of leaders won’t follow you because of your title. They’ll follow you based on how real you are. They don’t need an untouchable leader. They just want an authentic one. The kind of leaders who are willing to admit when things are hard. The ones who care more about being real than being right. That’s exactly what Marianna Kinnee and I discussed in her latest "Might in Motion" podcast. If we want to inspire the next generation to choose manufacturing, we have to be the kind of leaders they trust enough to follow. The link to the full episode can be found in the comments below! Ever had life land right on your keyboard? A surprising leadership lesson from an unexpected interruption: a 17-pound cat. Disruptions reveal priorities, test patience, and invite leaders to realign. Instead of pushing past what gets in the way, great leaders learn to pause, pay attention, and find meaning in the unexpected. Sometimes, the interruption is the insight. Leadership isn’t tested when everything’s smooth. It’s revealed when things fall apart, get messy, or meow. Unexpected interruptions (yes, even cats) can uncover blind spots, shift priorities, and help you lead with more presence and grace. #Leadership #Mindset #ChangeManagement #TransformationalLeadership 📘 Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/eWxTXEuj 🎧 Listen to the podcast: https://lnkd.in/eyzBFXYt

Leadership is about balance — especially when it comes to decision-making. Move too slowly, and opportunities disappear. Move too quickly, and you risk steering your team in the wrong direction. The best leaders pause just long enough to understand the full situation before taking action. Taking time to assess, ask questions, and learn gives you the clarity to make smarter moves. It also gives your team confidence because they understand not just what the plan is, but why it matters. In this episode of the Leadership in Manufacturing Podcast, Bruce Kellar, Senior Vice President of Sales at Sager Electronics, shares why thoughtful leadership begins with understanding — and how consistent communication helps teams stay aligned through uncertainty. Hosted by Sannah Vinding, this conversation dives into how leaders can make the right moves by avoiding reactionary decisions. 🎧 Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/ghZtfDWj Or read more: https://lnkd.in/gDVMnfNG This episode is sponsored by Sager Electronics. #SalesLeadership #LeadershipDevelopment #DecisionMaking #CommunicationSkills #LeadershipAdvice #ManufacturingLeadership #SagerElectronics #LeadershipPodcast #LeadershipInManufacturing

Is Emotional Intelligence Underrated in Modern Business? That’s the question I explored with Justin ITee Walker on his podcast — and it’s one that every leader should ask themselves. We talked about what happens when leaders rely too much on logic and strategy… and forget the human side. Emotional intelligence doesn't mean being “soft." It means understanding yourself and others well enough to create real trust, connection, and results. When leaders master that balance, their teams thrive, not just perform. There’s no shortage of tension in the world right now. But here’s the real question: how’s your workplace holding up? Leaders, let’s be honest: we’ve been in a bit of a “cultural void” in recent years. We are not making culture a priority each week, and it’s time for a reset. So… what can we do? How do we use culture to unite our people, build community, and create alignment — even in uncertain times? We’re talking about it on The Leadership Foundry Podcast: https://lnkd.in/eYFN7Qvy
