As AI reshapes industries and automates routine tasks, Investec highlights a critical economic insight: creativity will become one of the most valuable differentiators in the modern economy. While technology can optimise processes, it is human imagination, judgement and innovative thinking that will unlock new markets, solve complex problems and drive long-term value creation. At Appoint, our executive search and targeted recruitment approach focuses on identifying leaders who bring not only technical capability, but also the creative intelligence and forward-thinking mindset required in an AI-driven economy. Unlocking AI’s potential takes more than technology—it takes alignment. When leaders intentionally connect talent, technology and business strategy, value scales faster. They create a clear direction, move with confidence and turn #AI ambition into real impact. As adoption accelerates, this alignment becomes a defining leadership capability. AI is changing the economics of business faster than most leaders realize. For years, the constraint in organizations was execution—building products, writing code, running analysis. But today AI has made much of that dramatically cheaper and faster. What used to take large teams and several weeks can now be done in hours. That shift changes where real value is created. When execution becomes cheap, strategy becomes everything. The bottleneck is no longer “how do we build it?”—it’s “what should we build, and why?” In the AI era, competitive advantage moves from activity to judgment, prioritization, and leadership clarity. This is exactly why I’m excited about the upcoming CEO Coaching International #MakeBIGHappen Summit, April 22–24 in Miami. We’re bringing together two extraordinary thinkers who are helping leaders navigate this new era: • Salim Ismail — on how companies scale 10x faster using Exponential Organization (ExO) frameworks • Peter H. Diamandis — on AI, longevity, and the future of leadership If you’re a founder, CEO, or executive trying to understand how AI will reshape strategy, leadership, and growth, this is the kind of room you want to be in. The companies that win in the next decade won’t simply use AI tools. They’ll build organizations that think, decide, and adapt faster than everyone else. That’s what this summit is about. If this topic resonates with you, I’d encourage you to join me in Miami. Register here: https://cvent.me/XO5954 Hope to see many of you there. We are at the beginning of the largest technological shift of our lifetime, and a lot is changing, not someday, but right here and now. In another conversation last week with an executive team, one thing stood out clearly: Agentic AI is not just another wave of technology, it is fundamentally reshaping how organisations operate. And yet, the real challenge is not technological. It is about driving adoption and building real capabilities. Across the C-suite, the interest is there, the sense of urgency and so is the ambition. Still, the same questions keep coming up. Where do we start? How do we actually get people to use this in their day to day work? How do we build the capabilities needed to make AI deliver real business value? The organisations making meaningful progress are not just investing in tools. They are building the muscle to use them. They are developing leaders who can translate potential into practice and turn curiosity into action. Not in isolated pockets, but as an organisational capability. This is all about capability, adoption, and leadership. As technology will continue to evolve quickly, the real differentiator will be those who can adapt to it and lead the change. 🍏 Do you see it the same way, or differently? #Leadership #FutureOfWork #AgenticAI #Transformation

Feels a bit like we’ve all been handed a powerful new engine… but many organizations are still figuring out how to actually drive the car. The tech is moving fast, no question. But the real challenge is about habits, confidence, leadership, and making it part of everyday work. Building the muscle to use the tools well is the real shift 💪 💪 💪

Leadership today requires understanding both people and intelligent systems. In the past, technology was a tool we used to perform specific tasks. Today, AI is becoming a team member that changes how we think, decide, and create. Successful integration is no longer just a technical challenge for the IT department, but a cultural shift that starts at the executive table. For New Zealand business leaders, this means moving beyond curiosity toward strategic alignment. You must define where AI adds genuine value and where human judgment remains your most competitive asset. Leading in this era requires a clear roadmap that balances operational efficiency with human-centric innovation. If you are ready to identify the highest-impact opportunities for your organisation, the first step is a clear assessment of your current landscape.
