We are so inspired by, and honored to support, the vision of Malaysia and across Southeast Asia to harness the power of innovation for a more prosperous and more inclusive world of commerce.
QR Payments: Empowering the Rakyat, Strengthening the Economy Malaysia is accelerating towards a cashless, inclusive, and globally connected future, and at the heart of this transformation is the rise of QR payments. - Digital Financial Inclusion for All Initiatives like eMADANI and Cashless Boleh 4.0 have facilitated over 138 million cashless transactions, reaching an 86% penetration rate across participating federal agencies. These programs are making a real impact — empowering even the unbanked population to participate securely in the digital economy. With just a smartphone, Malaysians from underserved communities can now transact with confidence. As of 2025, 66.1% of Malaysians use QR codes monthly, placing us second globally in QR adoption — just behind China. But this growth isn’t just about convenience or tech. It’s about building a system that benefits every Malaysian — from the business owner to the gig worker, from rural villages to urban centres. - Lower Costs, Higher Efficiency for Businesses For SMEs, QR payments offer more than just modernisation. They’re a tool for survival and growth. By reducing operational overheads — no terminals, no printed receipts, no cash handling — businesses can focus on what matters: speed, customer experience, and profit. - A Transparent, Resilient Economy Malaysia’s digital economy is projected to soar, with card payment volume expected to exceed USD 90 billion in 2025. This shift brings more than efficiency — it promotes economic transparency, curbs illicit financial activity, and enables smarter policymaking based on real-time financial data. - Going Global with DuitNow Cross-border commerce is rising fast — and Malaysia is leading the charge. Our DuitNow QR system has contributed to a 50% quarter-on-quarter surge in Alipay+ transactions, now accounting for over 80% of inbound QR payments in Malaysia. This demonstrates how Malaysia is becoming a regional digital payment hub, capable of connecting local businesses with international consumers seamlessly. QR payments are not just about ease of use — they’re about economic equity, innovation, and resilience. With inclusive policies, industry collaboration, and strong user adoption, Malaysia is setting a benchmark for how digital finance can uplift an entire nation. #CashlessMalaysia #QRforRakyat #DigitalInclusion
Empowering progress through unity and innovation truly a vision worth standing behind.
