3wWhen I joined Anna University as a faculty in the mid 90's there were not many girl students in Mechanical & Civil, this changed dramatically in 2010's when many of girl students joined. one of the reasons and a real game changer was the enhanced mid-day meal scheme introduced by MGR ( where eggs were served ) in the mid 70's which led to an increase in enrollment of girls in schools across Tamilnadu.
