This important toolkit follows hot on the heels of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) AI Ethics Evaluator launched in July. More broadly this workstream represents a meaningful effort in 2025 to equip governments and regulators with a practical framework to assess AI readiness, guiding responsible AI adoption across sectors. The AI Ethics Evaluator in particular marked progress in one critical dimension - that of responsible and ethical AI - while the AI-REAL Toolkit advances this aspect further through the provision of a comprehensive framework to help nations overcome barriers to adoption across readiness, empowerment, and leadership. The toolkit was formally announced by DCO Secretary General Deemah AlYahya at the G20 Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Ministers’ Meeting in South Africa last week, and further amplified at the Tech Destination Pakistan Conference in Kuwait, where it was showcased by Director General Hajar El Haddaoui as a pioneering initiative supporting DCO Member States in advancing responsible AI adoption. #DigitalProsperity4All

Last week, our Chief Information Officer, Inanc Cakiroglu, joined industry leaders at Mobile Europe’s “AI in Infrastructure” virtual conference to discuss how AI is reshaping the telecom landscape. I really enjoyed attending Global Business Research (GBR)’s MWorX: Manufacturing Innovations event this week. Thanks for the invite! The sessions featured extensive discussion on the applications of AI in manufacturing operations, including performance monitoring and optimization as well as cost and waste reduction. As AI can often be a polarizing topic, I appreciated the balanced perspectives that addressed both the barriers and the drivers to adoption in manufacturing. Some highlights: ⚙️ Use of third-party testing to ensure plant and consumer safety ⚙️ Meaningful application of AI in design and production environments—AI should be applied with purpose, not just for the sake of adoption ⚙️ Alignment of the use of AI with the outcomes it is intended to achieve—AI must be tied directly to measurable, relevant results ⚙️ Recognition of the purpose of AI as a tool to serve people, processes, and technology—applied in that order to be safe, sustainable, and effective It was a thoughtful mix of innovation, practicality, and collaboration.
