Showing some advanced techniques for having creative control over the various layers of animations you can do directly inside of Unreal Engine. In this setup we have 3 separate layers running where you can have 1 for authoring the core humanoid performance animation, 1 for controlling each section of the transformation and 1 for fine tuning the final animation per bone. With this setup, you are no longer bound by the limitations of a static transformation animation and can adjust each layer to suit each performance scenario with macro and micro controls that can be concurrently animated. It's one of our more complex setups and Eugene Flormata does a fairly quick high level coverage of how it's all linked up in this video. Day 7: Today I learn about "Pre Compose in After Effects". Here is the animation done using pre composing. 👉 What is Pre Compose in After Effects? Ans: Taking one or more layers and putting them inside a new composition. Think of it like putting layers into a folder, but that folder becomes its own mini timeline.

Testing out a new plugin called TETHER by Douglas McGinness III. Animate null layers in After Effects. TETHER reads your motion data and generates video that follows your animation. Here is a quick test where I imported a still image, added some nulls to drive the head, eye, and hand motion to rotate the character looking right/left. I found this to be pretty amazing to art direct the motion. For example, I added a null to the board to have it twist slightly slower than the upper body. Check it out here: https://www.fossa.studio/
