Singapore always has a special place it my heart, because it was a place of many of my "firsts" - my first time on a plane, my first MRT ride, and the first time I paid with a card instead of cash. Card payment has been one of the most influential innovations and remains the most popular payment method. But even in a high-income country like Singapore, cards aren't accepted everywhere, as I often experienced when visiting the famous hawker centers to enjoy the national dish of chicken rice. I'm proud that Zalopay is now the first payment app in Vietnam to allow our users to use QR code scanning directly within Zalopay with no extra hassle. This opens up 16 million Zalopay users to more than 100 thousand merchants using NETS QR, GrabFin QR, SGQR by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and many more. Apart from being able to enjoy all the chicken rice my heart desires without worrying about running low on cash, I am so proud of my team in launching this pioneering new product feature from scratch. It was nice to experience something for the first time, but it's a lot cooler to build a product that helps millions of users to share this sense of wonder.
