One of the most exciting parts of what we’re building at NatWest Boxed is how embedded finance has the potential to unlock access, not just convenience. According to the World Economic Forum, 1.4 billion people globally remain unbanked — individuals without access to the financial tools many of us take for granted. Financial inclusion isn’t just a buzzword. It’s about real people in real communities who’ve been left behind by traditional systems. The good news? Fintech is beginning to change that, and I find this broader ambition to be hugely inspiring. At NatWest Boxed, we’re currently focused on savings and lending in UK however, while we won’t be tackling this global challenge directly in the near term, we’re laying the foundations for embedded finance solutions that are inclusive by design — starting here at home. It’s a journey, and every step toward more accessible and flexible infrastructure matters. https://lnkd.in/dxtbStki #embeddedfinance #financialinclusion #fintech

3dIt's great to see the continued progress at NatWest Boxed. Well done Andrew Ellis. As an industry we need to consider more seriously how we overcome the cultural challenges that exist with embedded finance adoption. Too many (non-FS) start-ups I've met in the last 18 months have neglected or de-prioritised how embedded finance can create longer-term value, such as the opportunity to drive improved personalisation, and establish new, low-margin business models in the future. Big opportunity and it's great to see an established UK bank lead on this agenda.
