This is exactly what AWS re/Start programme is all about: closing the digital skills gap and helping people get back into work. Manchester is where my own journey into tech began – studying for my MBA – so it’s incredibly meaningful to see the Amazon Web Services (AWS) re/Start programme now helping others launch careers in tech from the same city. Xanthe’s story will resonate with many: out of the workforce but determined to upskill and re-enter. After completing our free, 12-week programme, she secured an apprenticeship—which soon turned into a full-time job. A critical element of boosting economic growth is equipping businesses with the skills they need to innovate but many have told us that these skills are in short supply. This is why initiatives like AWS re/Start matter: they empower people with the tools they need to succeed while helping UK businesses to thrive.

Time series ≠ text. Embeddings of TS are intrinsically low-rank ⟹ attention in a TS foundation model is more compressible and rank “flows” across layers. Bonus: Chronos runs 65% faster with 81% less memory, no accuracy loss. https://lnkd.in/ezVEDHxc *Work done during an internship at Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Amazon announced Future Ready 2030: a $2.5 billion commitment to prepare 50 million people for tomorrow's workforce, expanding beyond our original goal that already helped 700,000 employees upskill. This isn't just about Amazon employees. We're opening Career Choice to salaried staff and investing in programs from K-12 through career advancement. AWS Educate prepares students for cloud careers. The future of work demands continuous learning and adaptability. Whether someone dreams of joining Amazon, works here now, or has moved on, we're committed to providing education that connects directly to real employment outcomes. Because thriving in tomorrow's economy requires investing in people today. https://lnkd.in/gaXQECMr

Why does a time series foundation model win here but lose there? Because the knobs have opinions. We show how design choices create temporal, geometric, and regression biases, which shape how a TSFM behaves. https://lnkd.in/ekQViJui *Work done during an internship at Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Very excited to announce our recent work "Understanding the Implicit Biases of Design Choices for Time Series Foundation Models". Here we identify implicit biases in their designs and provide analysis and understanding of when one TSFM may perform better in a certain application vs. another with applications to chaotic system forecasting.

As an AWS ISV partner, we hosted our own Manchester event earlier this year with Steamhaus with a similar goal: creating space for engineering leaders to talk honestly about modernization, architectural intelligence, and making better use of AWS. When the goal is true education, you get substance. Great to see this!
