Well, if you are a real Unity Game Developer, then you should know what is an LTS version right? Deciding a project's version is more important than creating the game itself. The tools you use will dependent to the version that you currently use. Most of the time, your team manager will say "oh, lets install the latest LTS". But trust me, they usually dont know what that means. An LTS (Long-Term Support) version is a version that will get update at least 2 years. But what that even do with our project? Every package gets updated based on its version. For example, package A may support 2022+ and that means that package can get update for 2022+ but the next version of this package probably will be Unity 6000.3+ for example. You may say: "I will stick to package version x" but trust me, it usually does not work like that.

Working on a small Unity editor tool focused on prefab versioning, tracking small changes on every version, and safe rollback directly inside the editor and many more. Calling it "Prefab Version Control (PVC)". More updates soon 🙂 #Unity #GameDev #WIP #UnityTools

🚀 New Project Released – A simple Unity Certification Exam Simulator I’m excited to share my latest project: a Unity-based educational application designed to help developers prepare for Unity Certification exams through realistic mock tests. The app includes multiple practice exams with randomized questions, a timed test mode, and instant results, covering core Unity topics such as GameObjects, Components, C# scripting, UI, physics, and scene management. It’s built to improve exam readiness, identify knowledge gaps, and build confidence before taking the official Unity certification test. Direct Storage support for ECS/DOTS data, Textures, and meshes for Windows and Xbox is now in Unity 6.4 beta https://lnkd.in/gD-wwHQQ This has been a project I have been working to land ever since I started at Unity. Please, if you have projects that have heavy textures, meshes, or ECS/DOTS data, test out Direct Storage support and enable it in Player Settings. Submit any issues to us and we will try to make sure it works as expected in the stable release.

Ever seen a Unity game run from a completely empty scene? No MonoBehaviours. No cameras in the hierarchy. Nothing. Unity's API has some neat tricks hiding in plain sight that most tutorials never cover. Link to the video is in the comments 👇

Unreal tip for today. You can use the console command slomo to capture moments in the game that would otherwise pass by quickly using values between 0-1. I was using this for debugging but no reason you couldn't use it for a bullet time effect. You can also speed up the game going over 1 i.e. 1.5 to make the game 1.5x faster. #uetips #unrealtips

The Unity 6.4 Beta is officially live, and this is our chance as a community to shape the stability of the next release. While we all love new features, the most important part of any engine is reliability. Unity is calling on us to help stress-test the new build, find the edge cases, and report original bugs. To make it worth your while, they’ve brought back the Beta Sweepstakes. If you find and report a valid bug, you’re entered to win some serious hardware (RTX 50-series GPUs). How to contribute: 1 Download Unity 6.4.0b1. 2 Test your current projects or try to break the new features. 3 Report any original bugs using the official tracker. 4 Add #BetaSweepstakes_6_4 to your report description. "Let’s fix these bugs now so the final version is super smooth for all of us. Who is planning to try the beta this week?"
