Santiago “Jimmy” Mellado’s Post

At the 1988 Summer Olympics, I attended a seminar and was inspired by what I learned about the revival of the church in South Korea after the war. Ever since then, I’ve felt called to give my life to serving Christ and his church. I want to serve God-inspired movements in his church and witness the redemption and restoration Jesus can bring to anyone. That same longing reminds me daily that God is still moving—through his Church and through the lives of children and families we serve. What he has done before, he is doing again, and we have the privilege of joining him in that work.

Here in El Salvador, we are very proud of you representing us in the Olympics, and now, being part of El Salvador development through your leadership. May God bless the works of your hands. (Psalms 90:17)

Jimmy, I remember watching our kids at Belmont track meets with you. Your dedication to your Family and your faith in Jesus then and now is inspirational!

I remember that summer! My family was just leaving South Korea for the US when the games were kicking off! The Korean Tiger logo from the 1988 games is still my favorite Olympic logo

I remember that kid! You are an inspiration Jimmy! God Bless brother!
