Be sure to catch Claudia McCarthy and Gabriella M.'s presentation "Quantum Computing for Real Time Defense Scheduling & Simulations" on Thursday, May 14 at 9:15AM at ICEAA 2026! Real-time defense scheduling and simulations for quantum computing requires a diversified utilization of schedule best practice procedures to properly deliver dynamic models. During the presentation we will address current open source quantum computing programs their benefits and security concerns and how they correlate to the types of scheduling techniques that should be utilized.

We have developed a tiny RISC-V core as part of a safety island to monitor and control on-chip traffic and a several accelerators. If you are interested in the details, you cannot miss our presentation at the Computer Frontiers conference on Thursday!
This week we'll be at the 23rd International Conference on Computing Frontiers presenting our paper "Application of Tiny RISC-V" This work discusses the standardization of #RISCV architectures based on tiny cores for crypto applications in the context of the PQC4eMRTD Project. We also present key practical contributions from the ISOLDE Project where a tiny RISC-V controller manages a statistics unit (SafeSU) and a traffic injector (SafeTI), both allowing to implement a number of safety and security-related services. In this talk, I present an experimental comparison between probe-less and probe-based eavesdropping models in QKD. The results highlight how variable-strength measurements and controlled noise injection affect Eve’s information gain, the induced disturbance, and the security indicators observed by Alice and Bob. I am thrilled to share that our paper "Thinking Inside the Box: Injecting Realistic Radiation Faults in ML Accelerators" has received one of three best paper awards at the IEEE/IFIP DSN Conference 2026. For years, we have been simulating soft-error faults on the CPU at the software level, but do those same assumptions hold for ML accelerators such as TPUs? This paper aims to close that gap by studying the fault patterns observed when running TPUs with ML workloads against a controlled radiation beam. Our findings have been integrated into a single tool, TPU-FI, where one can run realistic fault injection campaigns with confidence - no access to a particle accelerator facility is needed! We will be presenting this paper on June 23. I am proud to have worked with Bruno Coelho, Mani Sadati, Alex Hands, Karthik Pattabiraman, and Paolo Rech as part of this collaboration project between the University of Trento, The University of British Columbia, and TRIUMF.
