Bluetooth assistive listening systems are increasingly being introduced into airports to help passengers with hearing impairments receive public address announcements more clearly. While these systems provide important accessibility benefits, they also have several operational limitations when compared to the AviaVox VoxBRIDGE solution. Traditional Bluetooth-based systems: • Only work with enabled hearing aids or compatible assistive devices • Typically broadcast announcements only in the original live language • Are limited to areas where Bluetooth infrastructure is installed • Do not cater for passengers using headphones for music, calls or online meetings • Only provide “live” announcements — if a passenger misses a message, the information is lost • Broadcast all nearby airport announcements, including unrelated flights AviaVox VoxBRIDGE takes a different approach. VoxBRIDGE delivers relevant flight announcements directly to any passenger mobile device as speech or text — regardless of where the passenger is in the airport. Passengers can: • Select to receive only announcements related to their own flight • Replay all messages as many times as needed • Receive announcements in one of the many languages available within the AviaVox system at the airport • Continue using standard headphones or mobile devices already in daily use In addition, VoxBRIDGE stores all announcements related to a specific flight, ensuring passengers always have access to complete and accurate information throughout their journey. Text messaging is currently available in English, with additional languages being introduced as part of Phase 2 development. Improving accessibility is important. Improving accessibility while simultaneously enhancing passenger convenience, operational efficiency and multilingual communication takes the concept even further. Bluetooth assistive listening systems are becoming more common in airports to assist passengers with hearing impairments in receiving public address announcements clearly. While these systems offer significant accessibility benefits, they also have several operational limitations compared to the AviaVox VoxBRIDGE solution. Traditional Bluetooth-based systems: - Only function with enabled hearing aids or compatible assistive devices - Typically broadcast announcements solely in the original live language - Are restricted to areas where Bluetooth infrastructure is present - Do not accommodate passengers using headphones for music, calls, or online meetings - Only provide “live” announcements, meaning missed messages result in lost information - Broadcast all nearby airport announcements, including those unrelated to the passenger's flight In contrast, AviaVox VoxBRIDGE offers a more effective solution. VoxBRIDGE delivers relevant flight announcements directly to any passenger's mobile device as speech or text, regardless of their location within the airport. Passengers can: - Choose to receive only announcements related to their specific flight - Replay all messages as many times as needed - Access announcements in multiple languages available within the AviaVox system at the airport - Continue using standard headphones or mobile devices they already use daily Additionally, VoxBRIDGE stores all announcements related to a specific flight, ensuring passengers have continuous access to complete and accurate information throughout their journey. Text messaging is currently available in English, with more languages to be introduced in Phase 2 development. Enhancing accessibility is crucial. Improving accessibility while also boosting passenger convenience, operational efficiency, and multilingual communication elevates the travel experience. Accessible technology is only effective if it works. ICAAT is highlighting user experiences that expose the daily struggles with inconsistent assistive listening setups in commercial spaces. One of the reasons why we love #Auracast is that it simplifies the verification process for venues and users alike. Slip on a pair of Auracast-enabled headphones can you can check if the system is working. So much easier! But the testimonals featured by ICAAT make sobering reading. https://lnkd.in/e4St3mhV #Auracast #ProAv #AccessibilitySolutions #telecoils #hearingTechnology #av #bluetooth #BluetoothLEAudio

Telecoils: The Bedrock of Hearing Accessibility — And Still the Preferred Technology While the hearing industry continues to push the “next big thing,” one truth remains clear: telecoils and hearing loop systems are still the gold standard for reliable hearing accessibility in public spaces. A recent article from Consumer Reports highlighted something advocates in the accessibility world have known for years — telecoils dramatically improve speech clarity by reducing background noise and reverberation in places like theaters, airports, courtrooms, houses of worship, conference rooms, and public venues. Even as Auracast and Bluetooth technologies continue to evolve, experts quoted in the article acknowledged that these newer systems are not yet widely deployed. Today, telecoil-equipped hearing aids paired with hearing loop systems remain the most dependable and universally accessible solution available. This is why preserving telecoil compatibility matters. Telecoils work instantly, reliably, and inclusively. For venues, architects, audiologists, and accessibility professionals, the message is simple: > Hearing loops are not outdated technology. > Telecoils are not obsolete features. > They are foundational accessibility infrastructure. 🔗Link to Consumer Report article: https://ow.ly/yAgc50YXJQs #HearingAccessibility #AssistiveListening #Telecoils #HearingLoops #ADA #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #Audiology #HearingLoss #AccessibleTechnology #Auracast

Today, we are taking a more open and human-centered approach to hearing accessibility. 🔓 We are very excited to officially introduce the Trihear ClearTV Series — a new family of wireless TV streamers designed to make television listening simpler, more comfortable, and more natural for modern hearing device users. For millions of older adults, television is far more than entertainment 📺 It is a daily connection to the world: — family conversations — news and stories — sports and shared moments at home Yet many existing TV listening accessories still feel unnecessarily complicated: • limited compatibility between different ecosystems • confusing setup procedures • flashing indicator lights that create uncertainty • heavy dependence on smartphone applications At Trihear, we believe hearing technology should feel approachable, intuitive, and naturally integrated into everyday life. That philosophy became the foundation of the ClearTV Series. Instead of focusing only on technical specifications, we focused on reducing real-life frustration: ✅ Intuitive LCD Operation Display Clear on-screen text prompts instead of confusing flashing lights. ✅ Physical Control Buttons Large tactile buttons designed for simple everyday operation. ✅ Plug-and-Play Setup Quick wired connection directly to the TV or set-top box. ✅ Portable Cordless Design Built-in rechargeable battery with up to 12 hours of runtime for flexible room-to-room use. To support a wider range of hearing technologies and listening ecosystems, the series currently includes: 🔹 ClearTV — Universal Bluetooth Streaming 🔹 ClearTV ASHA — ASHA-Compatible Streaming More importantly, this project reflects something we deeply believe: Technology should help people feel more connected — not more overwhelmed. As hearing accessibility continues evolving toward more consumer-friendly experiences, we hope products like ClearTV can help make everyday listening feel a little more comfortable, inclusive, and human-centered. #Trihear #Accessibility #HearingTechnology #AssistiveListening #ASHA #HearingInnovation #AgingTech #ConsumerElectronics #InclusiveDesign

Airports around the world are exploring Bluetooth-based solutions to improve the accessibility of Public Address announcements for passengers with hearing impairments. While these technologies can provide benefits in specific areas, they also come with limitations. Bluetooth announcement systems typically only work within the zones where the devices are installed, meaning complete airport-wide coverage can be difficult to achieve. They also focus primarily on hearing aid connectivity and do not address the needs of passengers using headphones for music, online meetings, or other audio applications. AviaVox VoxBRIDGE takes a different approach. VoxBRIDGE delivers real-time airport announcements directly to passengers’ mobile phones as either speech or text, allowing travellers to: • Replay announcements related specifically to their flights • Receive notifications throughout the airport environment • Listen privately through their own devices or headphones • Read announcements as text for improved accessibility • Select their preferred language from more than 40 available languages and dialects supported by the AviaVox database By delivering targeted, multilingual announcements directly to personal devices, VoxBRIDGE helps airports create a more inclusive passenger experience while supporting the move toward quieter, more passenger-friendly terminal environments.
