One of my leadership heroes, Bob Chapman, died in March this year. I'll miss him. He did such a brilliant job of persuading even the hardest of noses that putting people first really is the best way to run a business. Drawing on his decades at the helm of the manufacturing giant Barry-Wehmiller, Bob, together with the great Raj Sisodia, wrote the book Everybody Matters. No book better demonstrates the link between caring for people and high performance. Today, Jason Lippert, President and CEO of LCI Industries, is one man carrying the torch for Bob's message. More than a decade ago, Jason built a programme called 'Everyone Matters' inside LCI. By 2021, attrition had fallen from 120% to 31%. On Tuesday, 2 June, I'll be honoured to host Jason in the FirstHuman Community. Jason will share: ➡️ The evidence that caring leadership delivers measurable business results, including lower turnover and improved performance ➡️ Guidance on shifting from a growth-driven to a culture-first organisation ➡️ The specific practices that embed "care" inside a publicly traded manufacturer Could caring leadership become the standard for your business? To explore that question, DM me for an invite or register at the link in my comment below. Nigel Kilpatrick
Great that you can showcase Jason! He’s a great leader! And Bob will be remembered for a loooong time—he’s inspired so many leaders and is deeply missed
At Lippert, we truly believe that business can be a force for good in the world… If!… Leaders of businesses from all sizes and industries understand that we have an opportunity and responsibility to take care of people in a meaningful way during their 40 to 80 hours at work with us. When people feel cared for, that is, they feel like they matter, and their voice is heard, and the work that they do contributes to a bigger picture, they go home happier and healthier, and when they do, they are better parents, spouses, community members because of it. and get this! This is also what we know about human high performance. When people feel safe and valued it, unlocks creativity, innovation, problem, solving, and camaraderie. High-performing cultures are not just focused on outcomes: they’re focused on the people and processes that drive outcomes!
Congratulations Jason, well deserved. I truly loved my time at LCI
