FIFA World Cup 2026™ Team Base Camps finalised ✔️ Another major organisational milestone has been reached on the road to the tournament, with the 48 qualified teams finalising the selection of their Team Base Camp (TBC) Training Sites. The 48 TBC Training Sites spanning Canada, Mexico and the United States will play a vital role for the participating nations as they get set to compete in the biggest FIFA World Cup™ ever. The world-class training facilities each team has selected will become their “home away from home”, and serve as the location where their players, coaches and staff will spend a significant portion of their time throughout the group stage. The 48 TBC Training Sites are an important part of the FIFA World Cup’s impact, especially in communities that will not host matches. North America has an abundance of cities and towns that offer impressive infrastructure and convenient connections to the 16 Host Cities. The presence of the teams that train and stay in these communities – as well as the fans and media who follow them – will generate a significant socioeconomic boost while ensuring more people in more places feel the FIFA World Cup buzz. Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer of the FIFA World Cup 2026, said: “Team Base Camps are an integral part of the fabric of any FIFA World Cup™. They are where teams put down roots, train and recuperate, and experience the day-to-day rhythms of the tournament. "Finalising the list of Team Base Camp Training Sites for the FIFA World Cup 2026 is especially exciting because of its unprecedented scale, which gives us the welcome and wonderful opportunity to involve even more communities and fans in this groundbreaking tournament.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eNfyJ6tV

The TBC impact on non-host communities is underrated. Fans traveling to follow their national team to a training base, local economies lighting up, kids watching their heroes train down the road that ripple effect is a huge part of what makes a 48-team World Cup across three countries genuinely different from anything we’ve seen before.
FIFA Why won't live football matches be broadcasted in Bangladesh? What kind of rule is this? This is a request to FIFA so that everyone can watch the game from anywhere in the world. Live TV broadcasts in Bangladesh can be started as soon as possible.
The accommodation of Team Bases for each national team is sufficient , due to the overall uniqueness of each team having their own team camp which encourages equality and fairness around the sport.
This is a great reminder that the World Cup impact is not only built in the stadiums. Team Base Camps can bring the tournament closer to communities that may never host a match, but can still feel part of the event. How can organisers make sure these local communities benefit beyond the few weeks of the tournament?
Really exciting milestone on the road to 2026. Amazing to see how many communities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico will get to experience the energy and global impact of the World Cup firsthand
As the world comes to Atlanta….a phantasmagoria spectrum of energy in diversity ! Viva Atlanta !
The finalization of Team Base Camps for the 2026 World Cup highlights how tournament design is now extending impact far beyond host cities. By embedding teams into 48 different communities across North America, FIFA is effectively distributing the tournament’s economic and cultural footprint across a wider geographic network than ever before. That structure matters because it transforms the World Cup from a concentrated event into a dispersed ecosystem of engagement — where training sites, local infrastructure, and visiting teams all become part of the broader tournament experience. It’s another step in how modern mega-events are being engineered to maximize reach, participation, and regional activation well beyond match venues.
