Proud to share this. Nuclear is one of the most technically demanding lines in our sector — and one that will only grow in importance as the energy transition accelerates. Finding new, credible capacity that genuinely addresses the complexity of modern nuclear facilities has been a real challenge for clients. This facility changes that. Bringing together Willis's nuclear expertise with Markel's capacity to deliver true end-to-end coverage — across construction and operations, hot and cold zones — is exactly the kind of work I want this business to be doing. Market-leading, client-focused, and built on strong partnerships. Huge congratulations to the team who drove this. This is what good looks like. If you're a nuclear operator looking for a genuine diversification option in your programme, let's talk.

Big moment for the nuclear market. This is more than just another insurance announcement. It’s a first of its kind capacity solution built specifically for the realities of today’s nuclear sector. Construction and operations. Hot and cold zones. Property and business interruption. A strong signal for the future of nuclear risk transfer and a reminder that insurance innovation has to evolve alongside nuclear innovation. Congrats to the teams involved in bringing this to market. #Nuclear #RiskManagement #Insurance #SMR #EnergyTransition #NuclearEnergy #WTW

Can the US actually build what it's promising to build? That's the question my PwC colleagues Daryl Walcroft and Travis Bell take on in their new piece on nuclear power and the AI-driven demand surge. Their answer is more interesting than the usual technology-vs-policy debate: the real constraints are execution — supplier qualification, specialized labor, design maturity, and project controls. When the environment demands more, the standard has to follow.⬇️ We've achieved ISO 19443 Certification, the globally recognised quality standard that sets out the specific requirements for the application of ISO 9001 by organisations in the supply chain of the nuclear energy sector, supplying products and services important to nuclear safety (ITNS). It covers how products and services are managed, assured and supplied into critical environments, where getting it right matters at every stage. For our customers, this isn’t about a badge. It’s about knowing the right processes are in place, the right checks are happening, and the right people are behind it. This builds on the work already happening across our teams and strengthens how we support projects where there’s no margin for error. Sharing a press release that may mark the beginning of a new chapter for Belgium’s nuclear industry (and perhaps for many of us working in it). The Belgian State, ENGIE and Electrabel announced a non‑binding LOI to start exclusive negotiations on a potential acquisition by the Belgian State of ENGIE’s/Electrabel’s nuclear activities. The contemplated perimeter covers the seven‑reactor fleet, people and subsidiaries, and the full set of assets and liabilities — including decommissioning and dismantling obligations. Due diligence is planned, and the parties aim for heads of terms by 1 October 2026. Interim arrangements include suspension of ongoing decommissioning and dismantling works while keeping options open. #ENGIE #EnergyTransition #Nuclear #SafetyCulture
