Electricity prices are on the rise and people need immediate relief from their utility bills. The Center for American Progress has 3 policy proposals to address rising electricity prices as outlined in our new report, "A Plan for American Electricity Affordability": 1. A rate relief fund for states that freeze or lower their electricity rates, 2. A national AI data center fair share policy to make sure data centers are paying the full costs they impose on the electricity system, and 3. A program to build a better, bigger power system including investments in clean energy and grid infrastructure.
