[IMEX PLACE LEADERS FORUM 🌍] Today at IMEX Frankfurt, destination leaders, city representatives, and business events professionals come together for the #IMEX Place Leaders Forum to explore a shared question: How can business events contribute more strategically to the long-term development, reputation, and competitiveness of places? As the boundaries between tourism, investment, talent attraction, innovation, and city development continue to blur, destinations are increasingly called to adopt a more integrated and collaborative approach to leadership. The Forum highlights the growing recognition that business events are not only economic drivers, but also catalysts for knowledge exchange, partnerships, community engagement, and place-shaping. City Destinations Alliance is proud to contribute to these important conversations, represented by Barbara Jamison-Woods and Inge Bauwens alongside international partners and destination leaders from across the global meetings industry. We are pleased to see place leadership, governance, advocacy, and destination strategy taking a stronger role within the wider IMEX Frankfurt programme. #CityDNA #IMEXFrankfurt #PlaceLeadership #BusinessEvents #MeetingsIndustry #DestinationManagement #Advocacy #IMEXPlaceLeadersForum Natasha Richards Ray Bloom

The future of our industry will be shaped in smaller rooms, by leaders willing to be open, honest, and accountable to one another. That’s why Creative Group President Janet Traphagen attended this year’s Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) Executive Women in Leadership (EWIL) event in Charleston, SC, joining hospitality leaders in conversations around connection, leadership, and experience design. One theme stood out throughout the event: attendees are craving experiences that feel more human. Less over-produced. More intentional. More space for meaningful conversation, professional growth, and genuine relationship-building. As our industry continues to evolve, experiences like EWIL are an important reminder that successful event design is about creating the right environment for people to engage in ways that matter. We’re grateful for partners like ALHI who continue investing in leadership, community, and the hospitality industry as a whole. Because leadership, at its best, is shared.

I’m really looking forward to Yolanda Nobanda sharing insights from the Yugrow Leadership ROI Benchmark™ on what the data reveals about the disconnect between leadership development investment and measurable organisational outcomes
Excited to be speaking at the HR + L&D Innovation & Tech Fest Africa on 23 June 2026. My session, The Leadership ROI Illusion, asks a question most organisations are not comfortable sitting with: why do we keep investing in leadership development programmes that don’t move the needle? Drawing on insights from the YuGrow Leadership ROI Benchmark™, I’ll be unpacking the growing gap between development investment and measurable organisational impact — and introducing a new way of thinking about how we measure whether leadership development is actually working. Participation is not proof. Engagement is not evidence. It’s time for a different standard. If you work in HR, talent, or L&D — this one will challenge you in the best way. 📅 23 June 2026 📍 The Marriott Hotel, Melrose Arch, Johannesburg

There's just a few days to go until Cheryl Perkins and I co-host the "What’s Not Working @ Work? Summit." We're excited to share a sneak peek of some of the panelists joining us on May 14 at Brunswick Corporation HQ in Mettawa, IL. The panels will help spark conversation, but this day is really about the work participants will do together through breakout discussions, reflection, and shared problem-solving around what leaders and organizations need to rethink, address, and act on next. And for those who can't join in person, "Human Resource Executive® Magazine" will be onsite to capture insights from the day for an upcoming feature article. Agenda 👉 https://lnkd.in/gB6vR9Cc Register 👉https://lnkd.in/gUC68niB This event wouldn't be possible without our generous sponsors: Center for Executive Succession at the University of South Carolina, Engagedly Inc, Gig Talent, the Innovation Resource Center for Human Resources (IRC4HR), Talent Connections, Cyberhill Partners, and our host, the Brunswick Corporation #WhatsNotWorkingAtWork #Leadership #FutureOfWork #WorkplaceInnovation
