I really enjoyed being a UAS judge and representing the AUVSI Georgia Chapter along with Bill Kendrick from L2 Aviation and Jim Chaney, the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) Program Manager for ATL at the Georgia High School Aviation Challenge at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia. What an amazing place to hold an event. The Georgia Aviation Challenge is hosted annually by the Transportation Education Foundation of Georgia (#TEFGA). Congratulations to all of the teams that competed. From written exams, oral evaluations, and flight assessments, these students were challenged across the full spectrum of real-world aviation and UAS operations. I had the opportunity to serve as a judge for the UAS obstacle course, and I was impressed by the level of skill demonstrated by these students. You could clearly see the training, discipline, and focus required to successfully navigate the course.Special recognition goes to the Alexander Boy's Team from Fulton County Schools College and Career Academy for taking First Place in the UAS Tournament. Well done. Special shout out to Liz Porter and Patrick Joyce from TEFGA and Roberto Torreggiana from USI for all of their hard work in making this happen. #Aviation #UAS #DroneEducation #STEM #FutureOfAviation #AAM #WorkforceDevelopment #GeorgiaAviation #TEFGA #DronePilot
