NSF AI Institutes Virtual Organization Collaboration Strategies for AI Research

When it rains it pours! Another paper I co-authored is now available in pre-print. This piece is especially dear to me as it was a collaboration with my fellow National AI Institute project managers. Networking with them is a highlight of my job and I’m very proud to be presenting this white paper advocating for why our roles matter in scientific collaborations. I hope you’ll check it out!

Hello everyone! Really happy to share something that’s been a big part of my journey over the past few months.🚀 Our research paper, “Deep Learning and Image Analytics for Forest Land Management: Classification and Object Detection,” has been published in the Journal of Computer Science, Science Publications 📖 This started as our major project, but along the way it became much more than that. We worked on building a system that uses deep learning to detect and count trees from satellite images and also classify tree species using leaf images. The idea was to explore how technology can help in better forest monitoring, especially with challenges like deforestation and biodiversity loss. There was a lot of learning involved, from trying different approaches to refining the final solution. Seeing it all come together into a published paper feels really satisfying. I’m really grateful to have worked with Devam Dixit and Shreyas Jani, this wouldn’t have been possible without the teamwork, discussions, and consistency we maintained throughout. A big thank you to Dr. Nilesh S. E. Yadav, our guide and mentor at K J Somaiya Institute of Technology Sion for the constant guidance and support.
