1.3 million education apps have been built on Base44. 870,000 of the builders behind them are teachers, administrators, or students. I didn't see this coming. When we built Base44, I was thinking startups and small businesses. Teachers weren't in the roadmap. But it makes sense when you think about it. Teachers have the most specific, daily, unfixable problems. No edtech product fits the way their particular school runs. And they've never had any way to build the exact tool they need. Now they can. And they are, at a scale that honestly shocked me when I looked at the numbers. A teacher doesn't need Salesforce. He needs a parent communication app that works exactly the way his school does. A professor doesn't need a $10,000 LMS. She needs a course tracker that matches her grading system. Honestly, this might be the use case I'm most proud of.
1.3 million users is no small thing. That's a milestone. Take your flowers please but what of Africa? A continent with over 700 million smartphone users and some of the fastest growing SaaS adoption rates in the world has not touched it yet. That gap is rarely about the product. It is almost always about the story. African markets do not resist great products here. The buying psychology is different. The brands that have broken through and broken through fast invested in content that felt native before they invested in distribution. 1.3 million users built without Africa means there is an entirely untapped audience already looking for exactly what this product does. The opportunity is not complicated. But it does require the right strategy to enter with trust rather than noise. Excited to watch where this goes next. Congratulations once again.
From what I've seen in AI adoption... the most powerful use cases are never the ones we planned for. Teachers building hyper-specific tools for their own classroom is exactly the kind of bottom-up innovation that enterprise tools always miss. This is democratization that actually works.
We launched 3 educational apps using Base44 for our work at the Centre for Business and Industry Transformation (CBIT) and we built the event management app for our Transforming SMEs with AI Conference.
When I first joined the Education team, I didn’t fully realize just how massive our impact was. These numbers really put it into perspective. Super proud 🧡
I built a whole business on this combining Base44 + Synthesia + Claude Code/Cowork. Healthcare compliance training is terrible, 600 slides next, next, next. Didn't want to use SCORM. So built my own AI based LMS with AI avatar delivery to make boring compliance rules easier to understand. 1stPassSage.com
So grateful to be apart of this- the apps I see our K12 faculty, Professors, Graduate Researchers, and students build continue to amaze me. It’s the most profound community I’ve ever been a part of!
870,000 teachers and students said "I'll build it myself" 👩🏫 👨🎓 That's the sound of a movement!
That is a staggering number Maor Shlomo. I expect some of that to be apps that they use for learning and practicing, and others for removing friction from all sorts of education-related workflows and communication flows. I bet there are also other domains where this could similarly explode, e.g. public sector and volunteer work. Question is can you build the business model around that.
I'm not a teacher or proffesor but I use it a lot for teaching my kids things. It's super easy and fun.🎮🕹️🃏
This is an amazing way to use Base44. This is a movement in itself for sure. Well done, Maor Shlomo!
