It’s always refreshing to hear phrases in the classroom like “let’s skip the presentation” when a question disrupts the planned flow — it shows a genuine commitment to ensuring the audience truly understands the message, prioritizing clarity over structure or comfort. Equally valuable is when someone openly shares their frustrations, transforming what could be an inspiring talk into something deeply motivating through realism — especially in a context where young professionals often need that extra energy and honesty about the challenges they face. Finally, bringing criminological theories into the business world requires an added effort: translating their value into business impact. It’s not only about crime itself, but about understanding and preventing all forms of economic loss that can affect an organization. In short, it was a real pleasure listening to you. And even more so, knowing that Universidad Camilo José Cela students have the opportunity to learn from someone with your experience, curiosity, and drive — as a former student who has been consistently connected to corporate criminology since the very beginning of your professional journey. This will always be your home, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
When University meets the private sector, innovation thrives ☄️ and the future design🛤️ If we don't show our reality to and connect with the future generations, there is no progress. But also, it’s a two-way street🔁: academic research fuels corporate growth, paving the way for new opportunities and breakthroughs Let do the University what the companies doesn't have time to do. Always, it is a honor to return to the Universidad Camilo José Cela that sparked my curiosity. It allows me to show future criminologists how to apply their skills in the private sector and help them discover the opportunities they can create for their future. Thank you Carmen Jordá Sanz and Daniel González Jiménez 🙂

🔶 Workshop Recap: Advancing Qualitative Research in Business Studies 🔶 Two weeks ago, the PhD workshop “Advancing Qualitative Research in Business Studies” went into its third round at the WU in Vienna. The workshop brought together doctoral students and faculty from across Central and Eastern Europe—including Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze, European University Viadrina, WU (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien), and Universität Innsbruck—to: 🔸 foster cross-institutional exchange on qualitative research in business studies, 🔸 support PhD candidates through feedback and coaching, 🔸 and offer an inspiring space for academic growth and career development. We advanced doctoral projects through conference-style sessions and one-on-one coaching. Another special feature was the honest insights into failures and lessons learned from publication processes, shared in “behind the scenes” keynotes and roundtable discussions. New this year were the writing sessions, which aimed to provide all participants with a small, concrete piece of output to take home—balancing the very valuable but intangible input and feedback. 🌬️ Even though our brain capacity was collectively “gone with the wind” after four intense days, we can say – mission accomplished! 🎯 A huge thank you to all contributing faculty members — Marius K. Luedicke (WU Wien), Zuzana C. (VŠE Prague), Dr. Katja H. Brunk (European University Viadrina), Andrea Hemetsberger (UIBK), Verena Wieser (UIBK), and Delphine DION (ESSEC Business School) — for their valuable input and engagement. Special thanks to EU Erasmus+ for making this workshop possible through their funding! We look forward to continuing this initiative and strengthening the qualitative research community in business studies! 📚🤝 #QualitativeResearch #PhDWorkshop #UniversityofInnsbruck #BusinessStudies #AcademicCommunity #ResearchCollaboration

I am deeply honored and grateful to have been selected to participate in the PhD Project Annual Conference held in Chicago from March 19–20, 2026. Its mission—to expand access to doctoral education and strengthen the talent pipeline through diverse and talented educators—resonates deeply with my own professional journey and aspirations. This conference offered a unique and insightful view of every stage of the PhD journey, while also providing meaningful opportunities to connect with current doctoral students, distinguished faculty, business school representatives, and partner organizations. I want to sincerely thank the entire team behind The PhD Project.
