I’m excited to share that RIVR is now part of Amazon, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for our team. This step will accelerate our vision of building General Physical AI through doorstep delivery, bringing robotics and AI closer to real-world deployment at scale. A huge thank you to the entire RIVR team for the incredible dedication, resilience, and hard work that made this possible. A special thank you to Giorgio Valsecchi, Lorenz Wellhausen, and Alexander Reske for taking the leap together from day one and building RIVR side by side. I’m incredibly proud of what RIVR built, and even more excited about what we will accomplish next at Amazon.
Congrats Marko Bjelonic and the whole RIVR team! Welcome to Amazon and we are so excited to partner with you on some incredible innovations. 😊
Awesome to see . Congrats Marko!
Congrats to the whole RIVR team. The interesting part of this from the outside is what Amazon actually gets: not just a robotics team, but a system trained on unstructured outdoor environments, which is a very different problem than warehouse navigation. Doorstep delivery is harder than it sounds. Stairs, weather, bikes on the path, kids. That gap between controlled indoor automation and real-world last-mile is where most robotics bets have stalled. Curious whether the research direction stays intact or gets narrowed toward Amazon's existing ops priorities.
Niiiceee. Dont forget what you have to do when I become homeless
While innovation in robotics and AI is impressive, I still believe human-driven delivery plays a critical role in our society. A single delivery job supports an entire ecosystem — individuals earning a living, supporting families, and contributing back into the economy through spending. That cycle creates more jobs and strengthens communities. Automation should ideally augment human work, not replace it entirely. If the primary goal becomes cost-cutting at the expense of livelihoods, we risk weakening the very social and economic fabric that sustains us. There’s definitely a place for AI and robotics, but the balance between efficiency and human impact is something we need to carefully consider.
Exciting times ahead! 👏
We remember you told us RIVR wants to 𝗴𝗼 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲. Safe to say you went BIG. 𝗛𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to the entire RIVR, an Amazon company team 👏 Exciting to see your vision of General Physical AI now moving into real-world deployment at scale. A strong signal for what’s emerging out of Greater Zurich in robotics and proof of why the region is known as the Silicon Valley of Robotics. 🚀 All the best for this next chapter 🍀
Congrats Marko and Team RIVR!
Congrats on the expansion into Amazon, that's a big achievement! It’s inspiring how you folks are pushing robotics and AI to new heights. I’ve seen projects in this field face lots of hurdles; seeing RIVR thrive is encouraging. Keep up the great work for even broader impacts.
Welcome to the team Marko and the team at RIVR. Looking forward to the amazing things you’ll do at Amazon!
