Just a question, without controversy: did the Public Investment Fund (PIF) focus on reducing OPEX? Or only CAPEX (no problem),I see OPEX (real problem) infinite, whit respect. Thanks.

Excellent progress by PIF on the KAFD sustainability goals. Achieving Net Zero requires not just sustainable districts, but a revolution in how we connect them. As the Founder of AquaLine X, I am developing a 0-Carbon, high-speed sub-sea infrastructure designed to bridge these futuristic hubs with zero surface disruption and 100% renewable energy integration. Our model for the Gulf aligns perfectly with the 2050 Vision—transforming high-speed transit into a regenerative asset. Would love to discuss how this sub-surface urbanism can further accelerate PIF’s commitment to low-carbon urban development.

What’s interesting is the physical layer (cooling, solar, efficiency) is getting solved fast, but the operational layer is where things get messy… once you start running these districts with AI-driven optimization, you’re constantly trading off between energy efficiency, cost, and system resilience. We saw this on a smart infra setup where the model optimized perfectly on paper, but small real-world variances (weather, usage spikes) kept forcing overrides… feels like the real challenge isn’t building net zero systems, it’s keeping them stable under live conditions.

Big Idea for Clean Air: What if the very things we build — roads, Streets, bricks, doors, windows — were not just passive structures, but filters Imagine cars, buses, trains, and planes cleaning the air with every journey. A world where every surface turning cities into giant purifiers. It is time to start building green structures. Let’s connect. Must see and read my posts for details. #KamranHanifPvtLtd #InvestedInBetter #ImpactThatCounts

Cities are not just built they breathe. In Riyadh, the KAFD is teaching towers to inhale sunlight, exhale clean air, and cool themselves through hidden veins beneath the streets. By 2050, Net Zero will not be a target on paper, but a lived reality: children growing up under clearer skies, businesses thriving without smoke, and ambition rising without waste. KAFD is not infrastructure. It is a covenant with the future a benchmark for how prosperity can live lighter on the earth.

A compelling example of how integrated infrastructure can drive measurable sustainability at scale. By combining energy-efficient buildings, district cooling, and on-site solar generation, #KAFD is actively reducing emissions while advancing toward its Net Zero 2050 ambition. This holistic approach positions the district as a global benchmark for sustainable financial centers and future-ready urban development. #KAFD #NetZero2050 #SustainableCities #EnergyEfficiency #DistrictCooling #SolarEnergy #LowCarbon #UrbanInnovation #InvestedInBetter #ImpactThatCounts #Vision2030

Public Investment Fund (PIF) A compelling example of integrated sustainability in practice. What stands out is the alignment between design ambition and system-level execution across energy, infrastructure, and urban planning. The continued value will be in how these models evolve operationally over time, setting benchmarks not only in efficiency, but in resilience and adaptability.
