I totally agree that there are too many changes in sports for the wrong reasons However there are nuances such as: Should Italy have two Grand Prix’s if other countries can’t even get one ? FI has always predominantly been funded ,and legitimised , by the R and D budgets of the leading automotive manufacturers . So if consumers and Governments want more eco friendly cars then that is where the R and D budgets will go and that will then have a big impact on the sport So any change has to be looked at in context It’s not change , as with Baller League and soccer , for absolutely no reason apart from the Baller investors and originators desire to make money Or conversely Padel , which though a new sport , has developed from the grass roots up
The comments coming out of the main protagonists in Formula 1 are shocking this weekend. It is Gerald Ratner Level of “shitting all over your own product”. But they are right. The leadership of this sport is nothing short of a bloody disgrace. I don’t care how much you have grown revenues. Sport isn’t about that. “Not all money is good money Jerry”. If this is the poster child of sport as an asset class, via CVC and Liberty, then count me out. I’ll be over here, as far as way as possible. I am SO SO GLAD that all my F1 content over the last 8 years has been clear on all this. This is not some hot take from today. An entire sport ruined, to the applause of those who know the cost of everything but the value of nothing. I can’t exaggerate the disdain I have for the 90% of the leadership in sport these days. All slavering over a few extra bucks like a common pimp. David Cushnan Luca Mitchell, MASt Charlie Knott Paul Macdonald

New season, new format 👋 Welcome back to another season of Formula One and, with that, another year of Outside The Box content. This season, the 'traditional' Race Review format will be replaced by a monthly Race Roundup, shifting away from a monotonous echo of events, and shining a torch on what makes Outside The Box unique; unhinged flair and an undertone of positive despair. March's premature Roundup deep-dives into the aftermath of the Australian and Chinese Grand Prixes: questioning the longevity of the 'new era' of Formula One; admiring the reemergence of Toto's happiness, and putting both Aston Martin and McLaren in the hotseat 🤩 Read the fresh-off-the-press article below now, and subscribe to be the first notified of all new releases. Rumour has it, the smartest fans are already subscribed. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eR6tweSH #OutsideTheBox #blog #FormulaOne #RaceRoundup #AustralianGP #ChineseGP

What happens when Formula 1 meets the future of human performance? This weekend we stepped into the F1 back pit with something the sport has never seen before. Next-level wellness and recovery brought directly trackside for the drivers and F1 teams. Not the usual ice packs and stretch bands. We’re talking advanced recovery, nervous system regulation, and performance tools designed for the fastest humans on the planet. Because when milliseconds matter, how you recover matters even more. This is just the beginning of a new era for motorsport performance. Huge gratitude to the incredible Vanessa Winter from Circulo for helping bring this vision to life. True innovators change industries. The future of recovery has officially entered the pit lane. #F1 #HumanPerformance #NextLevelRecovery #WellCorp #Motorsport #FutureOfPerformance

What’s happening with F1 right now is a reminder that this sport is bigger than racing. With races in the Middle East getting canceled because of conflict, it shows how fast things can shift on a global stage. This isn’t just a schedule change. This is logistics, safety, sponsors, and fan trust all hitting at once. From a sports management perspective, this is where it gets real. How do you keep fans engaged when the product disappears for a weekend? How do you make the right call without losing momentum? That’s the part I’m paying attention to.
