One thing I’ve learned over time: 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟. Not every conversation looks important on the surface. Some feel like a long shot. Some feel like a waste of time. But every once in a while, the call you almost ignored turns into something real. A deal. A relationship. An idea that changes the trajectory. There’s a lot of talk about strategy and optimization — and that matters. But there’s also something to be said for simply showing up and leaving room for luck to find you. Because if you don’t take the call, don’t take the meeting, don’t get out there… you’ve already decided the outcome. You don’t need every conversation to be a win. You just need to be in the game enough for the right ones to happen. Take the call.

Last week I was on a coaching call with a business owner. She’s usually a decisive person but she was hesitating on pitching a service she hadn’t needed to sell for 2 years…. The mysterious delaying was causing a lot of frustration. She came to me to get it unstuck. For context, she’d recently made the tough decision to let go of a big long-term client… and that was adding pressure. She felt like she had to fill the gap as soon as possible. But when she thought about pitching this fresh spot… it was overwhelming. Her mind had made it seem like she had one arrow and it had to hit the bullseye… first try. And if it missed? That was it. No more chances. No wonder she’d been hesitating. Very high stakes! Logically she knew it didn’t make sense… and she’s not someone who sees dead-ends in any other area of life… But despite knowing that… logic (and even using other mindset tools) wasn’t getting it done. The longer it went on, the more strain she knew it would put on her financially. So she knew it was time to act. When she came to me I could see why logic hadn’t shifted it. So I went to where the real conflict was and got her deeper mind (not logical) to see that it made sense to fire this arrow… because she actually had a lot MORE arrows than she thought. Once that clicked, she immediately felt lighter and told me that after the call she sent the pitch and even had a right-fit enquiry later that day. But the real victory wasn’t the enquiry, it was that she felt free and in motion again. On the Quinella Approach and Restoring Clarity In tense interactions, participants’ feelings are almost always compressed by defensiveness, pressure, and the need to hold their positions. As a result, the conversation loses precision and mutual perception becomes distorted. The Quinella Method is grounded in the understanding that forcing “openness” does not create clarity. Mediative work therefore focuses прежде всего on reducing the sources of distortion—tension, interpretations, and reactivity—that prevent people from seeing and hearing each other without defense. We call this removing the prism of conflict. As these distortions diminish, participants begin to understand their own intentions more accurately and to perceive the other party’s interests more clearly. It is often at this point that they experience a sense that the situation has, for the first time, become transparent and manageable.
