Dr Suzy Green’s Post

For nearly four years now, I’ve had my head (& heart) deeply immersed in the adult development and leadership maturity space, working closely with Dr Maja Stanojevic-Andre. This work has profoundly shaped how I think about leadership capability, development, and what it truly takes to lead well in complexity. This year I'll be completing the Leadership Maturity Framework Intensive Training for the 4th time. I continue to use the LMP with many of my senior executive coaching clients and consistently find it to be one of the most useful lenses for understanding 1) the stage of meaning-making a leader is currently operating from 2) the developmental direction they are moving towards and 3) how to more effectively meet others where they are developmentally. What I’m also seeing is how closely this work aligns with the language being used by HR/People Leaders: agile leadership, adaptability, perspective-taking, leading in complexity, navigating a VUCA or BANI world. In other words, the capabilities organisations are calling for are not simply skills to be trained (horizontal development); they are (vertical) developmental capacities that emerge as leaders mature in how they make meaning of themselves, others and the systems they lead. At The Positivity Institute this year we’re again hosting the LMP training in Coogee across five days - 29 April - 3 May - with the first three days focusing on the theory and foundations of adult development and leadership maturity; and the final two days focusing on application within a coaching context. What I love about this training, is that it’s an intimate learning experience (usually no more than 10 participants) with the opportunity to work with those who are similarly called to this work - this is very much one of those “the student finds the teacher” experiences! If this resonates with you, I’d encourage you to trust the spark! Yes it's an investment of both time and resources but it remains one of the most meaningful professional development programs I have undertaken. The opportunity to spend 5 days with Maja alone is a privilege - such a rare example of someone who truly embodies what she teaches. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me here on LinkedIn. More information can be found via our ACADEMY+ page on our website. I do hope you can join me! Stay posted, as I'll be shortly sharing an article, based on my invited keynote for the International Positive Psychology Association in Brisbane last year, exploring the integration of ego/adult development and positive psychology.

This is such a wonderful and rare opportunity, if this is your space, highly recommend soaking up this learning. I look forward to the next opportunity as I'll be in Pos Psych with Dr O'Connor!
