U.S. Small Business Administration’s Post

If you’re thinking about starting a business, you’ll need a good business plan. SBDC’s (an SBA Resource Partner) can definitely help, (and/or check out my e-book). SBA Microloans, and SBA guaranteed loans from banks can be a great source of financing. I know, I’ve worked for both. Most likely, there’s a Small Business Development Center and bank specializing in SBA loans near you.

For decades, the Small Business Administration (SBA) has served as a vital engine for economic growth in the United States. Its programs have empowered small businesses to expand, create jobs, and strengthen communities across the country. Among these entrepreneurs are lawful permanent residents who have invested their own savings, taken personal risks, and built businesses from the ground up. Many have formed partnerships with U.S. citizens and are deeply integrated into our local economies. They pay taxes, employ American workers, and contribute meaningfully to the prosperity of their communities. The new SBA rules scheduled to take effect in March would exclude these permanent residents — and, by extension, their U.S. business partners — from participating in SBA programs. This change raises serious concerns. At a time when economic growth and small business expansion are priorities, restricting access to capital and support for responsible, law-abiding business owners I respectfully urge you to reconsider this rule. Strengthening small businesses strengthens America. Ensuring that committed entrepreneurs have access to the tools they need to grow will help build stronger communities and a more prosperous economy for all.

Don’t forget that buying a business is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to become an entrepreneur. SBA has loans for acquisitions too!

Love seeing SBA highlight entrepreneurs this week. One thing I’m always reminding small businesses about is website privacy compliance — it’s often overlooked but so important. I just shared a free checklist on my page for anyone who needs it. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7429177450284138496

The U.S. SBA also helps businesses grow globally. Through SBA Export Loans (like the Export Express, Export Working Capital, and International Trade Loan programs), small businesses can access capital to enter new markets, fulfill international orders, and manage trade-related risks. SBA also partners with U.S. Export Assistance Centers to provide counseling, market guidance, and export readiness support helping small businesses turn domestic success into international opportunity.

This is such an important reminder. Entrepreneurship has become a meaningful path forward for many people navigating transition and reimagining their next chapter. At RIF2RISE, we’ve seen resilience turn into innovation — and small business creation is often where that transformation takes root. Grateful for resources like SBA that help make new beginnings possible.
