The video shows in slow motion how a vibrating pan feeder works. A Vibra Screw electromechanical vibrating pan feeder moves bulk materials in a controlled, linear flow using mechanical vibration rather than belts or rotating parts. The feeder consists of a flat or contoured pan mounted on springs and driven by one or two electromechanical vibratory motors. These motors contain eccentric weights on the motor shaft. When the motors rotate, the offset weights generate a controlled vibratory force. The angle and magnitude of this force cause the pan to vibrate in a shallow forward-and-up motion. As the pan vibrates, material resting on it undergoes a rapid lift–slide–settle cycle. Each vibration slightly lifts the material, moves it forward, and sets it back down, creating a smooth, continuous flow along the pan surface. The feed rate is adjusted by changing the motor speed, eccentric weight setting, or voltage via a variable frequency drive (VFD). Electromechanical pan feeders are well suited for coarse, abrasive, hot, or heavy materials because they have no internal contact with the product and minimal wear components. The open pan design also allows for easy inspection, cleaning, and integration with screens, chutes, or downstream equipment.
