Assalamu’alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, I am deeply honored to announce my recent appointment as the Head of Islamic Wealth Management (IWM) for Maybank Malaysia. Having been a part of the Maybank family since 2018, this new role marks a significant milestone in my journey, and I am profoundly grateful for the trust and support extended to me. Reflecting on my tenure as the Head of IWM Singapore, I am immensely proud of our collective achievements as Team IWM Singapore. Together, we established Maybank Singapore as the first bank in the country to offer end-to-end Islamic wealth solutions, aligning with the five pillars of IWM—wealth creation, accumulation, preservation, purification, and distribution. Our efforts led to an impressive growth in the IWM business, with an expansion in our Islamic investment client base and Shariah compliant wealth solutions. These accomplishments were made possible by the dedication and collaboration of an exceptional team. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Maybank Singapore, the center of our wealth management excellence, where I had the privilege to learn from esteemed colleagues and leaders. Special thanks to Alvin Lee, Dato’ Muzaffar, Dr Ramadhan, Alice Tan, Kok Boon, Anurag Mathur, Adam Tan and the entire Wealth Family for their unwavering support and guidance. The warm welcome from the Maybank Islamic team and leadership, as well as the broader Wealth Family in Malaysia, has been truly heartening. Many colleagues have known me since my days in Premier Offshore, making this transition feel like a homecoming. As I embark on this new chapter in Malaysia, I am filled with enthusiasm and anticipation. Malaysia’s esteemed position as a global center of Shariah excellence further enriches this new chapter. The Malaysian market presents vast opportunities, and I am committed to working closely with our talented team to further elevate IWM, not only within Malaysia but on a global scale. I recognize that there is much to learn, and I am eager to immerse myself in the unique nuances of this vibrant market. In this journey, I am reminded of the principles of Shura (consultation) and Tawakkul (trust in Allah). I look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders, embracing the diverse perspectives that will undoubtedly enrich our strategies and initiatives.
