Every leader has a story. Mine began with uncertainty, change, and the challenge of starting over. As a child, I experienced displacement, lived through the realities of conflict, and immigrated to Canada at the age of eleven. Those early experiences taught me lessons that would later shape my approach to leadership, resilience, and service. Today, I am grateful to serve Canada through Global Affairs Canada, lead one of Canada's largest PMI chapters as President of PMI-SWOC, contribute to healthcare philanthropy as a Hospital Foundation Board Director, and support the development of future leaders through education, volunteerism, and community engagement. Throughout this journey, I have learned that adversity does not define us—it can develop us. That belief inspired my keynote: 🎤 From Displacement to Leadership: How Adversity Shapes Extraordinary Leaders This keynote explores how individuals and organizations can: 🔹 Lead with confidence through uncertainty and change 🔹 Transform challenges into opportunities for growth 🔹 Build resilience in times of disruption 🔹 Develop purpose-driven leadership 🔹 Create lasting impact through service and community engagement Drawing from personal experiences and professional leadership roles across public service, project management, education, governance, and volunteerism, I share practical lessons that audiences can immediately apply in their own leadership journeys. My goal is simple: to inspire people to see challenges not as barriers, but as opportunities to grow, lead, and make a difference. If your organization, conference, leadership summit, association, PMI chapter, educational institution, or community event is seeking a keynote speaker who combines authentic storytelling with actionable leadership insights, I would be delighted to connect. 📩 Feel free to reach out (abbas@jhmjconsulting.com) to discuss speaking opportunities. Because leadership is not determined by where we begin—it is shaped by how we respond to the challenges along the way. #Leadership #KeynoteSpeaker #LeadershipDevelopment #Resilience #ProjectManagement #PMI #VolunteerLeadership #PublicService #ChangeLeadership #CommunityImpact #EducationLeadership #ProfessionalSpeaker #GrowthMindset
