Verse writing
- [Instructor] Let's begin with the verse. Verses tell the story of your song. It is critical when you're writing verses to use details and sensory imagery. Often in storytelling, it's the details that capture the audience's attention. The use of details, especially in the verse, the place where you further your song's story, is a tried and true device for drawing in your listener. Even better, if your details can take the form of images, you'll be way more likely to communicate your message in a potent and interesting way. The expression a picture is worth a thousand words exists for a reason. Images are a more distilled way to get your message across.
