Chorus writing
- [Instructor] Now chorus writing is a different animal altogether. The chorus is all about summarizing your song's main message. Another way to put this, is that the chorus should tie the message of your song to the end of a baseball bat and beat people with it. This may sound like an obvious tip but I believe it's worth mentioning. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the story that we're telling in our verses, we forget that our chorus is the spot where we should stop telling the story for a moment and get to the point. This is why I like the chorus, to almost without exception, be the same each time. Changing the lyrics to the chorus is kind of giving it the verses job of telling the story. And that's not really the job of the chorus. The chorus is there to summarize the main message. Another thing that is critical in the chorus is to use a lyrical hook.
