Customizing themes

- [Narrator] Now that you know how to find and download themes to your WordPress site, let's talk about what to do next, customizing that theme to meet your needs. It's very rare to download a theme and have it look exactly how you want right away. You'll need to tweak at least a few of the settings to find the right look and feel. Basic themes, like the one you've downloaded from the directory, are customized in the customizer area of your dashboard. Find it by going to Appearance and then Customize. Here you can make choices about global visual settings, global meaning things that apply to all pages or most pages like the colors that are used on the site, what your header looks like, what your footer looks like, site settings like page titles and blog excerpts, specific homepage settings, so on and so forth.
