- [Narrator] Let's take a look at how Microsoft Word treats website addresses. You can easily identify a website address in a document because it will be underlined and colored blue, just as a link would traditionally look on a website. This helps you find website links in your document and you can also right click on it and choose Open Hyperlink and it will open your web browser and go to that address. So this can be really useful, but the person who wrote this document did not decide to format this text that way. Take a look at this. I'm going to start a new paragraph and I'm just going to type in a website address. And you'll see, as soon as I hit the return key, Word will automatically format that as a website link because it recognized the format of a website address.
