Lock a document to restrict editing
- [Instructor] Microsoft Word will let you restricted documents so that nobody can make changes unless they have the password. This is one feature that is a bit different between Mac and Windows. So we'll start on Windows. I have this document open, and I want to lock it down. So I can go to the review ribbon, then go to this protect section, and choose restrict editing, which opens up this panel. Now first, you could limit formatting restrictions but what I think most people want is the option for editing restrictions. So I'm going to turn that on, and then you should go to this menu, and you can choose which types of edits you want to control. I'm just going to set this to no changes. So it will not allow any changes in this document but then below that is the option to make exceptions.
