Volume Shadow Copy is one of my favorite ways to restore files quickly without having to go to the backup program itself. I can just choose a separate partition where this data is going to be backed up, and then I can restore it as needed. I'm going to right click on my C drive and choose Properties to enable my shadow copies. So I'll click on Shadow Copies. Now, in most cases, you're only going to see the shadow copy option with just the domain administrator or the administrator of the computer. In some cases, you can go ahead and add all the necessary rights, so you can see this as a separate user if needed, but in most cases you'll have to go in as the domain administrator. Otherwise, you just won't see this tab for shadow copies show up. This is also referred to as volume shadow, because this is going to be the volume of the C drive that I'll be using.
