- [Instructor] Prior to Windows Server 2008, we would have to install our roles and features using the control panel, and a lot of the roles and features were already pre-installed, which added a lot of server storage and RAM usage as well as security vulnerabilities. Starting with Windows Server 2008, we had the ability to add the roles and features manually by going into our Server Manager and choosing our Add roles and features. So if I click Next, through our wizard, we can see there are several options, such as the Role-based or feature-based installation or Remote Desktop Services. I'm not going to be installing Remote Desktop Services in this video, so I'll go ahead and choose the default and click Next. Now it's prompting me for which server I'd like to use.
