- [Instructor] Troubleshooting NPS has a lot of crossover to troubleshooting VPN connections. For example, you have to keep an eye on matching up your authentication protocols at either end of a connection. You may notice that Connection Request Policies, or the rules that define who is allowed to connect, have on their Settings tab an option to override network policy settings regarding the encryption and authentication protocols. If you make a change here, then users that have this policy will need to make changes on their side as well. Also, you saw how easy it was to make a Shared Secret and how easy it is to configure a client to point to that Shared Secret. If the clients themselves have not been updated to reflect any changes to this Shared Secret, then they're going to need to get on board.
