- [Instructor] When working with IP addressing, you may have heard the term subnetting. And maybe you've wondered, what does it exactly mean, to do subnetting? Well, subnetting is a process of taking a large network... Alright, so, if you think of back when I was talking about classful IP addressing, maybe you have a B-class range of IP addresses available to you, which means that you have 60 over 65,000 IP addresses, but that's too much to manage as a single network. So, what you can do is you can subnet it Alright, I just mentioned a B-class network, so, if we had a network of 172.16.0.0, which has 65,534 hosts, what I can do is, you'll notice that the B-class range has a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. What we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and move the bar over to the right.
