- [Instructor] You can free up space on the task bar by removing the window search, the task view, chat, or the widgets icons. Right click on the task bar and choose task bar settings. Under task bar items, you can use the switches to disable the search task view and chat icons. As you disable them in the settings, the icons will be removed from the task bar. The widgets icon is on the left side by default and you can disable that as well. You can put these back later if you want, but with the window search, task view and chat icons hidden, you have much more space to work with in the task bar.
