- [Nick] When you're finished using an application or a program, you should quit it. Now I'm starting here with three applications open, and I want you to see when an application is running, it will appear in the task bar and it will have a line underneath the icon. So I can quickly see by looking at the task bar that the Calculator application is running. It has this little line under it, and I can see that Microsoft Edge is running, and File Explorer is running. Now let's quit File Explorer. I can see the File Explorer window here, and in most cases, you can just click the X button in the top right corner of a window. That will close that window, which will quit that application. So I see the window is closed, and also very importantly, the line is no longer visible underneath the File Explorer icon. So I know that that application is no longer running. It has quit.
