- [Cathy] When explaining the eras of the internet, I often say that while Web 1.0 connected us to information, and Web 2.0 connected us to each other, Web3 connects people, places, and things. Going deeper than that, The most important things you need to know are one, it is built on the blockchain technology. Two, it emphasizes decentralization and greater individual ownership of digital assets. And three, there are many different visions for how it'll operate. I like to think that you're here because you want to understand and be a part of building that future. So let's start with the foundational understanding to do that.
