- All right, let's do one more example. Here we have a locker room where things are falling out of depth, it's getting darker and more out of focus as it goes back. Here's the original. Well, how'd we do it? Well, it's pretty straightforward. What we're going to do is create an alpha channel to indicate the different areas. So let's go here to the alpha channel and make a new empty channel. I'm going to invert that so it starts white. What we're going to do is blend these together. Now, newer versions of Photoshop have a great interactive gradient. It won't work here. We have to go old school. So from the gradient menu, switch to the classic gradient. Now using your black to white gradient, if you could flip, you might need to flip this. We'll go in and just choose black to white.
