Building the visual story
- If you have shot a photo essay, or worked on an editorial piece for a magazine, or for a book project, or even a gallery show, you already know what building a visual story means. You're taking isolated elements, pictures, shot sometimes in different places and even from different projects, and telling a coherent story. Well video is the same. You're taking clips, longer clips, often from more than one camera, and you're adding all these awesome elements, like music and dialogue, special effects and camera movement, and we'll talk about all these things later on. If you can tell a great story with a still image, you can tell a great story with a moving image.
