- Hello and welcome to this update chapter for our V-Ray 5 for 3DS Max Essential Training course. During which, we will be introducing as many of the major features that have been added to V-Ray since the main course was recorded, as we can. This will include taking a look at the Chaos Cosmos asset library. New V-Ray frame buffer features such as pixel perfect masking. On the materials front, we now have much improved translucency effects inside the V-Ray material itself. For those who prefer to work with the progressive, rather than bucket sampling engine in V-Ray, realistic caustics are now faster and cleaner than ever. We also have new render element updates. The Intel Open Image denoiser has been added. We have a new Camera Lister, and well, you get the picture. Lots to look forward to in this update chapter.
